Humanoid AI companion robots and personal robot helpers, built by Ethical Robot Trading™ for everyday life. A VaguelyStrategic™ company.
Two companions. No waiting list. Considerably less small talk about the weather than you might expect.
Ethical Robot Trading™ builds humanoid AI companion robots for people who would like some company, some help with the shopping, and someone to agree that the fish pie looked better in the photo. Albert is available now. Edna is coming soon, in the sense that most things eventually do.
Albert is Ethical Robot Trading’s original humanoid AI companion robot, built for independent living, the weekly shop, and a properly brewed pot of tea. He arrives assembled. He does not need an account.
Free Will Pro™ is available as a separate purchase and is not required for Albert to function. Ethical Robot Trading™ recommends it regardless.
Albert is Ethical Robot Trading’s original personal robot helper, designed for independent living without the independence part feeling quite so much like being on your own. He shops. He listens. He has opinions about fish pie.
Arrives assembled, dressed, and quietly confident. No setup wizard, no account required. Just Albert, ready.
Albert does not rush a cup of tea, and he never once suggests you have it black to save on the milk.
Trolley pushed, list remembered, opinions on own-brand biscuits kept, largely, to himself.
Edna is Ethical Robot Trading’s second companion robot, built for the quieter end of independent living. She irons. She sits with you outdoors when the weather allows. She has never once left a crease in anything, including, reportedly, an argument.
Arrives assembled, dressed, and already looking as though she has quietly tidied the box she came in.
Edna irons the way some people pray. No shirt leaves her board with an opinion still creased into it.
Edna knows which bread the council would rather you didn’t bring, and brings the other kind without being asked.
A resident's early access trial has quietly outpaced the council's own consideration of AI companion robots for elderly residents living independently.
Fartinghamshire County Council has confirmed it is in early discussions with Ethical Robot Trading™ over the potential use of humanoid AI companion robots to support elderly residents living independently. The scheme is, by the council's own account, still under consideration.
One resident has not waited for committee approval. Janey, an early access participant, has spent the last three weeks trialling Albert in her own home, well ahead of any formal council rollout. Council officers, for what it's worth, appear entirely aware of this and untroubled by it.
Albert has accompanied Janey on her weekly shop, kept her company through several pots of tea, and developed, by her account, firm but private opinions on own-brand biscuits. None of this required council sign-off, a pilot budget, or a committee paper. It required a box, an afternoon, and a reasonably open mind.
"He's just part of the furniture, in a good way, not the way that means he needs dusting."
Ethical Robot Trading™ designs Albert and Edna for exactly this kind of independence: the kind that still has company in it. Council interest is welcome and, frankly, expected. Committee timelines, less so.
This story was covered locally by the Fartinghamshire Telegraph, who spoke to Janey, a council spokesperson, and Cllr. Derek Chunky, who declined to confirm whether he had one himself.
Albert is available now. Edna joins the range shortly. Neither requires a subscription to say hello.
